From Overseas Treasure to Local Legacy: A Ring Reborn
This stunning ring was originally crafted overseas especially for our client—a piece she absolutely adored and wore with pride. Its intricate design and meaningful presence quickly became part of her everyday life. But like many well-loved treasures, wear eventually took its toll. One day, she noticed an issue with one of the claws holding a stone.
Rather than risk shipping it back overseas, she came to us—her local, onsite jewellers—for a quicker, hands-on solution. Upon inspection, we found not only the claw in question but also several other underlying structural issues that would worsen over time.
We offered her a choice: a simple fix of the claw or a full remake using all her original materials, addressing all the issues at once. She chose the latter—wanting the ring to last her a lifetime.
What followed was a meticulous process. We removed every stone, separated the rose and white golds, melted and reused them, and reimagined the ring’s design just enough to strengthen and future-proof it—without losing its essence.
The result? A beautiful, sentimental remake that preserves the story of the original ring while enhancing its longevity—an heirloom ready to stand the test of time.

She came to us with a hand-drawn sketch, a small collection of family heirlooms tucked away in her jewellery box—precious, but unworn—and an inspiring idea.

At Jewellers Vault, we have the absolute pleasure of working with couples during one of the most exciting (and sometimes overwhelming) chapters of their lives — wedding planning! Amidst the sparkle of engagement rings and wedding bands, we’ve also heard our fair share of quirky wedding superstitions over the years. Some are sweet, some are strange, and some just leave us scratching our heads.Here are a few of our favourite wedding superstitions:💍 Spider Surprise – Believe it or not, if a bride finds a spider on her wedding dress, it’s actually considered good luck! Creepy-crawly? Yes. But lucky? Apparently so.☀️ Sausage Ritual – This one really threw us: some people believe that burying cooked sausages at the site of the ceremony will help bring good weather. We’re not entirely sure who first thought this would work, but hey — if it helps calm the nerves, why not?🪞 The Mirror Rule – According to tradition, once the bride is fully dressed with hair and makeup done, she shouldn’t look at herself in the mirror — it’s said to bring bad luck. But if she *does* sneak a peek and then adds an accessory (like earrings or a necklace — we can help with that!), the bad luck is magically reversed.💥 Smashing Plates – A bold tradition, often seen in Greek culture: guests break plates at the reception, and the newlyweds clean them up together. This act is meant to show that the couple can overcome challenges side by side. When Sentiment Meets Smart Design
You might not be able to see it in the pictures, but this little elephant has a big story.
Our client brought in a pendant she adored—an elephant that had hung lovingly from her chain for years. But those years of wear had taken their toll. The two tiny jump rings holding the piece in place were almost worn through. It’s not something she did wrong—it’s simply what happens with movement and time. And it’s a reminder to all of us: wear and tear is real, even for the most beloved pieces.
To protect her elephant and prevent further damage, we suggested a smart solution—soldering the piece in place to stop it from swinging and grinding against the chain. But then she had an idea…
What if we reimagined the whole piece?
She envisioned a half collar necklace, with her elephant secured in the centre, and a comfortable chain at the back for easy wear. And who better to help bring it to life than Jewellers Vault?
Using her own gold, we crafted the design—and now her elephant hangs proudly once again. Only this time, it’s stronger, safer, and more stylish than ever!
Jewellery can carry deep meaning—but with the right care and creativity, it can also carry on for a lifetime.
